How many different types of Clays are there?
There are various groups of clay. Some main groups of clay include kaolinite, montmorillonite-smectite, and illite. Chlorite, vermiculite, talc, and pyrophyllite may also be classified as clay minerals. There are about 30 types of “pure” clay in these categories, however mostly “natural” clay deposits are a combination of different sorts of weathered minerals. Clay excavation site in Loxwood is a principal clay resource for brick making and is well located for supplying several relatively local brickworks and other industrial applications.
